Which parts of the UK have the most webcam performers on AdultWork? I counted the profiles for every UK county the site offers and for 151 towns and cities to find out, and then compared them with escort numbers area by area. One sentence of warning up front: only about 40% of UK webcam profiles show a location, so every local count below is an undercount. 9,084 UK profiles on AdultWork have “to Webcam” ticked on 16 October 2026, 8,355 of them female (92.0%).

Only 3,886 of them (43%) list a region, so the county and city counts below describe performers who show a location.
London leads: 1,076 webcam performers (989 female), 28% of everyone with a region, ahead of the North West (555) and the South East (412).
Greater Manchester is the biggest county outside London with 276 webcam performers (262 female), and Essex is third with 181.
How we counted
We counted the profiles. On 16 October 2026 I ran AdultWork’s own search with the “to Webcam” box ticked for every UK county value the site offers and for 151 towns and cities, reading the “profiles found” total each time rather than opening profiles. Webcam performers here means profiles with “to Webcam” ticked, split by gender as AdultWork records it. County figures use AdultWork’s own county filter and don’t overlap. City figures use a 10-mile radius around the city-centre postcode, so neighbouring cities share profiles and shouldn’t be added together. London is shown as one area (AdultWork’s London region, all 33 boroughs). One important limit: many UK webcam profiles don’t list a region or town, so local counts only include performers who list a location (see the caveats). These are profile counts on one platform on one day, not a census.
The UK in numbers
Webcam is even more female than escorting. Of the 9,084 UK profiles, 92.0% are female, 363 are male (4.0%), and 209 carry AdultWork’s Trans tick. That tick overlaps with the gender field, so read it as “of which”. Every county in the top 15 below is 80% female or more.
Webcam performers equal about 0.60 for every escort profile across the whole UK (9,084 against 15,169), and in London it is 0.32. The UK-wide figure uses every profile, whereas the area ratios use only profiles that list a location, so compare areas with each other and not with the UK figure.
By region, London has 1,076 webcam performers, the North West 555 and the South East 412, then East of England (Anglia) on 366 and Yorkshire and the Humber on 296. Scotland has 191, the North East 124, Wales 97, Northern Ireland 19 and the Channel Islands 3.

Please don’t add these rows together. Dartford, Slough, Watford, Woking, St Albans, Basildon and Harlow all have 10-mile circles that reach into London, so seven cities are partly counting London profiles. Manchester, Stockport and Oldham are the same conurbation counted from different centres, and so are Birmingham, Walsall, Dudley and Solihull.
Leaving out London’s orbit, the top 10 cities are Stockport (107), Manchester (106), Oldham (93), Birmingham (71), Walsall (56), Dudley (54), Solihull (53), Leeds (53), Wakefield (48) and Bradford (47).
The map
The map near the top of this post shows the same counts. Each AdultWork region is shaded by its total, with darker meaning fewer, and gold bubbles mark cities, sized by profiles within 10 miles. London is the whole region. Only profiles that list a location are on it, and the Channel Islands are in the Excel file but not on the map. The Isle of Man is excluded.
Cams versus escorts: where the ratio is highest and lowest
Here is the part I found most interesting. The ratio is webcam performers divided by escorts for the same area, so 0.40 means 4 webcam performers for every 10 escorts. I only used counties with at least 50 escorts, so tiny areas don’t distort it. Treat it as “which areas look relatively more cam-heavy” and not a literal share. I won’t claim a cause, and anything I suggest is a guess.
Highest ratio (cam-heavy for their size):
- Essex: 0.46 (181 webcam performers to 393 escorts)
- North Yorkshire: 0.44 (37 to 84)
- Greater Manchester: 0.39 (276 to 708)
- Newcastle upon Tyne: 0.38 (46 to 120)
- South Yorkshire: 0.37 (91 to 244)
- Derbyshire: 0.34 (67 to 197)
- Cheshire: 0.33 (105 to 317)
- East Riding of Yorkshire: 0.33 (20 to 61)
Lowest ratio (escort-heavy, few cams):
- Warwickshire: 0.09 (7 webcam performers to 79 escorts)
- Northamptonshire: 0.10 (14 to 145)
- Swansea: 0.10 (7 to 70)
- Wolverhampton: 0.10 (7 to 69)
- Gloucestershire: 0.11 (13 to 122)
- Coventry: 0.12 (16 to 129)
- Aberdeen: 0.13 (12 to 90)
- Hertfordshire: 0.14 (41 to 288)
Big escort markets (250+ escorts) with the fewest cam performers:
- Hertfordshire: 0.14 (41 webcam performers to 288 escorts)
- Berkshire: 0.16 (41 to 261)
- Hampshire: 0.18 (75 to 414)
- Bristol: 0.18 (46 to 250)
- Glasgow: 0.21 (62 to 297)
- Kent: 0.23 (95 to 405)
For cities outside London’s orbit with 50+ escorts, the highest ratios are Southend-on-Sea (0.33, from 22 webcam performers to 67 escorts), Doncaster (0.21), and Stockport, Chesterfield, Nottingham and Oldham, all on 0.20. The lowest are Hartlepool (0.04, from 2 to 57), Northampton (0.04), Stevenage (0.05), Darlington (0.05), Stockton-on-Tees (0.05) and Middlesbrough (0.05).
Essex is the standout. It has 181 webcam performers against 393 escorts, a ratio of 0.46, the highest of any county with 50+ escorts, and it beats Birmingham, West Yorkshire and Cheshire on cams. Greater Manchester is the cam capital outside London with 276, and in city terms Stockport (107), Manchester (106) and Oldham (93) top the 10-mile table, all drawing on the same Greater Manchester pool. At the other end, Hampshire (414 escorts, 75 cams), Hertfordshire (288 and 41) and Berkshire (261 and 41) are big escort counties with comparatively few cam performers. Glasgow has 297 escorts but just 62 webcam performers, and Scotland’s region total is only 191.
Inside London, the “City of London” county value has 419 cam performers, more than any other borough (136 in Kensington and Chelsea, 79 in Westminster). It looks like a generic pick for central London, so please don’t read it as a real concentration in the Square Mile.
Quietest places
These counties have no webcam performers listing that location: Dundee, Isle of Wight, Pembrokeshire, Sandwell, Londonderry, Ceredigion, Dumfries and Galloway, East Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire, Anglesey, Clackmannanshire, Orkney Islands, Armagh, Fermanagh, Argyll and Bute, and Western Isles. Zero here can mean “nobody lists a location there”, not “nobody there”.
The counties with the fewest, at least one, each have just 1: Angus, Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Conwy, East Lothian, Flintshire, Guernsey and Gwynedd.
Caveats
- These are profile counts on one platform on one day, and counts change daily. A profile is not a person, one person can have more than one profile, and “to Webcam” ticked does not mean currently streaming.
- Location coverage is the big one. Of 9,084 UK webcam profiles, only 3,886 list a region and 3,678 a county. The rest show only “United Kingdom”. Local webcam counts therefore understate the real number in every area, perhaps unevenly. The escort side is about 93% located, which is why the ratios are only a rough guide.
- A profile can be an escort and a webcam performer, so webcam and escort counts overlap and should not be added.
- City counts overlap because of the 10-mile radius, while county counts do not. Seven cities’ circles reach into London.
- AdultWork’s county list is its own and mixes counties, cities and unitary authorities. The Channel Islands are counted in the Excel but not mapped, and the Isle of Man is excluded.
